Mixing Body Parts between ERS-210 and ERS-220 |
Currently there are two models of AIBO that have interchangable body parts, the ERS-210 (Lion) and the ERS-220 (Cylon). If you wish to swap body parts, the main body brick must contain the newer firmware. Use the body brick that came with the ERS-220. In future you will be able to update the firmware with the ERS-210 to 220 conversion kit.
Legs
The legs are not completely interchangable, since the physical shapes are different. You must match the front and back legs on each side of AIBO (ie. a 210 right front leg will not mesh with a 220 right hind leg).Here are the combinations that work:
- All ERS-210 legs
- Mixed legs (one side 210, other side 220)
- All ERS-220 legs
Head/Tail
The head and tail combinations are also limited by the physical shapes of the parts. Notably the 220 head unit won't work with the 210 tail.Here are the combinations that work:
- 210 head, 210 tail
- 210 head, 220 tail (*)
- 220 head, 220 tail
